Iron Man 2018

This year’s IronMan event was considered to be our most successful yet. It was the largest group we have taken in the 15 years the event has been running and all 5 young people and 5 adults completed it. We had also extended the event by a day and included an evening hike up a mountain at the end to really test our candidates. This year’s trip consisted of a night hike followed by wild camping, hiking sections of the West Highland Way, Cycling from the west coast to the east coast of Scotland, an Ice Wall Climb and team combat games, high ropes and clay pigeon shooting, finishing with an evening hike up Benrinnes. Having run the event for many years, the organisers said this year’s group worked the hardest as a team – supporting each other and problem solving many of the tasks facing them together. We will have to wait and see if IronMan 2020 can live up to its expectations....
