Providing a safe and challenging environment for children in care
Young people are active and adventurous, they take part in a wide range of outdoor and physical activities that have given them many memorable experiences and build on their self-confidence.” Ofsted.

Our young people have:

  • Taken part in the 3 peaks challenge
  • Raised money for a variety of charities
  • Completed the Ironman Challenge
  • Planned and completed a 3500 mile road trip across Europe
  • Organised a Bonfire and Fireworks Night for the local community
  • Competed in athletic, rugby, roller hockey and football teams at regional level
The effects on children of abuse, rejection, loss are not only the chaotic behaviours we often see but they often lack the ability or desire to have dreams or significant aspirations.

At Shelldene we strive to get our young people dreaming and aspiring to do and be as the beginnings of realising their individual potential. We help them to expand their horizons through individual styled working, yet maintaining a strong identity within the home for the group and the staff team.

At Shelldene House we pride ourselves on understanding that each child will have individual aims and aspirations and that it is our responsibility to ensure these are achieved.
We want to show you what young people have achieved, the enjoyment and belief they gain through some of the events they have undertaken with our staff and qualified professionals.
